On Monday, Madison-Plains girls’ basketball played a game against Grandview Heights, losing 36-34.

Coming from Columbus, Grandview was looking to get their second win of the season while the Lady Eagles were looking to get their first win of the season.

Grandview came out to a pretty good start, going up by double digits multiple times in the game, but the Eagles never gave up.

The Eagles are a very solid team this year with multiple players who know how to play basketball. Hope Fetherolf with 22 points was the leading scorer with Chloe Kelly scoring four points, and Rylee Davis and Adriel Owens each scoring three points.

Going down eight points in the 4th quarter but not giving up, the Eagles tied the game up with a minute to go, but they just couldn’t take the lead. Grandview went up two points with less than 10 seconds left in the game. The Eagles went down the court and shot up a prayer, but it wasn’t enough. The Eagles fell to their second loss of the season, losing by two points.

They won on Tuesday against Kipp Academy 45-35, and they hope to win again on Saturday against Southeastern.
