Madison-Plains sets school record in the final game of the season

On Friday Madison-Plains beat the winless Catholic Central to improve their record to 6-4. In winning this game, the Golden Eagles broke a few records. 


The Golden Eagles beat the Irish 76-0. Coming into the game the previous record for points in a single game for the Golden Eagles was 62, which was set last year against Catholic Central. 


Madison-Plains scored 38 points in the first quarter and 16 in the second quarter. Madison-Plains scored a total of 54 points in the first half. 


The Golden Eagles scored an additional 16 points in the third quarter with the Varsity team, before putting in all the backups and adding on another 6 with the backups. 


Jarrett Vallery, quarterback for the Golden Eagles, threw for 278 yards, 7 touchdown passes, and went 13/18 passing. Vallery set the school record for most passing touchdowns in a single game in this game. Kosta Xenikis rushed for 157 yards on 8 attempts and had one touchdown. 


Matt Holbrook, offensive linemen for the Golden Eagles, got his first rushing attempt on the season and scored his first rushing touchdown. 


The Golden Eagles ended the season in fashion breaking the school record for most points in a single game with 76. Golden Eagles won in an incredible way and we will see how this carries over to next season.
