Be Better, 2022

Anna Price, Staff Writer

I don’t know about everyone else, but 2021 was a sucky year for me. Having to adjust to living with only my uncle, having to get used to not having my mom around and adjusting to everything in general. “New year, New me”, I don’t believe in that. People normally give up on their resolutions within the first few weeks of January. It’s a waste of time to me, I just don’t get it.

But, back to 2022. I wasn’t really all excited about the new year but, I do know one thing: I want it to be better than 2021. We’ve had a crappy past few years with Covid and everything; we need a win. I want 2022 to be our win. Our better year. I know that I really need a win. Everything has just been so crazy lately.

I could write a book about everything that has happened to me recently, but I won’t. Nobody is interested in that. I know that we end up jinxing the new year by thinking of all the bad stuff that can or will definitely happen.

I know that it’s really hard, but maybe, just maybe we should think about the positives. You don’t have to listen to me, I’m just a teenager writing a column for Journalism class, but I just think that it would be helpful. I don’t know, I don’t really practice what I preach, but I’m trying to get better at that. 2022 should try to get better too. I think we all can be a little better to fix this year. Be better, 2022.
